To ensure uninterrupted event tracking for Google Analytics 4, this site is currently utilizing a temporary standard Client-Side Google Tag Manager container. This temporary measure will be superseded by a more efficient Server-Side implementation in the near future. The Client-Side container will remain operational for future application enhancements.
Google Analytics 4 inherently retains data for a maximum of two months, with an optional manual extension of up to 14 months. Currently, the sole method to extend data storage beyond this limit is to integrate Google Analytics 4 with Google BigQuery. Given that I already utilize a Google Cloud Platform for the impending Server-Side container, this integration presents a seamless solution. However, it is important to acknowledge that while this service offers a cost-free tier, it is subject to certain limitations.
Google Analytics 4 excels at providing at-a-glance information and real-time data for front-page sections, making it an ideal tool for quick insights. For more in-depth analyses and effortless sharing with users, the Explorer report is the preferred choice
For a more sophisticated reporting experience, I can leverage my BigQuery data. By manipulating this data, we can gain deeper insights and seamlessly integrate these insights into a Looker Studio report. Additionally, the Looker Studio report can be tailored to the specific requirements of decision-makers.
